Product Description Item #: SOGTF-1. Features & Benefits: Our mission was to create an updated SOG folding knife based on historical proven design but launched from a platform of new technology. Somehow, when you see it, you immediately know it is a SOG. When you use it, you definitely know it is a SOG. At a casual glance it has elements of our original SOG Bowie, Tomcat, SEAL Pup, Flash, etc. Upon a closer look, it has features never before put into a knife. The SOG Trident uses our well-proven means of delivering a knife blade to the open position with S.A.T. Now using our patent pending Arc-Actuator, the Trident locks stronger and releases easier. There is also a built-in safety to lock the blade closed. When it shows red, you are ready to go. What also makes the Trident so unique is the patented Groove in the handle, which allows the operator to cut paracord, fishing line, etcetera without having to open the blade. The Tridents blade is an evolution as well. Taking key elements from previous blade shapes created a distinct hybrid of form and function. Check out the introduction of a whole new tactile handle concept called Digi-Grip. With this variable patterning we can create a coarser grip in areas that will require it. Aggressive touch point scallops on the key areas of the perimeter complete the look. You will also appreciate the thought behind our bayonet style clip, which is easily switched for right/left hand carry or removed for pouch storage.
- SOG Assisted Technology - fast one-handed blade access
- Black TiNi coating - lightweight and durable
- Groove in Handle
- Reversible pocket clip for easy carry
- Blade locking safety
- Highly corrosion resistant
- Stainlees Steel 1/2 serrated Blade
- Comfortable grip for all day use

Good Mid Range Folder November 20, 2008 Knife Guy (Indiana, USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Pros: Great blade shape Awsome locking system (Never will buy another liner lock again) Sits low in your pocket Handle is the perfect size and is extremly grippy Light
Cons: Significant blade play. When screw is tightened to eliminate blade play the spring in no longer strong enough to open the blade. The slit in the handle is pretty much useless.
Overall: At about half the quality of top tier folders (Strider, Extrema Ratio, Zero Tolerance) and a quarter of the price this knife offers great durability and quality for the cost.

I did not like this knife for the money. It has no liners so I felt it would not hold up to any strong use. The opening was fast but I had a lot of side to side play. If you tighten it down it would not open as easy, either one or the other.
its ok, i guess June 11, 2008 B. Padow (VA) 0 out of 3 found this review helpful
I was so excited about this knife but it was a letdown. The so called SOG assisted technology is a joke. Its not that its a bad knife. its just not at all what i was expecting.
Good Knife April 28, 2008 Unknown (Galt, CA United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
As far as Assisted opening knives go, this is probably one of the best you can buy for the money. The Safety Lock works well, as it keeps the knife from accidentally opening in your pocket. One slight problem is that takes just a little practice to close with the left hand. It's a good knife that suits its basic purposes.
