This item sounded like a great idea, but it just doesn't work. The scissors are too bulky and awkward for any normal hand. In addition, the laser shows a straight line, but not necessarily in the direction you meant to go. All in all, a waste of money.

These scissors cut really nicely through 1-5 sheets of paper. We recieved one with a blue handle. It's VERY difficult to cut a credit card, as shown in the picture. In order for these scissors to cut that credit card you're going to have to make little snips all over it to get it cut. If you do it the way the picture shows the card will just cut a small amount at the base and then bend. These are not made for heavy duty cutting. If you're going to shred a lot I'd recommend a shredder machine. These are perfect to have around for one or two pages that need to be shredded. I keep a pair in my kitchen for quick shreds such as prescription receipts. I've used them now for about a year, with moderate use, and they've now become squeaky. This is a nice little gadget and has come in handy many times.

A very nice tool for when you have a document
or two that you need to shred, but don't want
to be bothered with using a regular electric shredder.
Also, the shredder scissors arrived very quickly.

Just got it today and already i'm delighted. The scissors are surprisingly sharp and seem well made, there's virtually no wobble or play at the joint. It feels like a normal scissors when you use it. In terms of shredding capability, its pretty awesome. Having this scissors by the door is a great way to shred junk mail right as it comes into house. :) All you need to get is the address part of the envelope anyway, and its great for that. It saves me from piling up junk mail and then dreading sitting in front of the electric shredder for an hour. Snip snip snip, all gone.
I should add that its also fun to use.

I keep these in my kitchen drawer and sort my mail at the kitchen counter.
Snip, snip over the garbage can and sensitive information is gone. Works great for one or two sheets of paper.
