3 out of 5 stars Computer Desk   August 8, 2008

Item came quickly, but it smelled of mildew. Still has a hint of it although I gave it a good cleaning, hoping it will eventually air out! I don't like the idea of buying items that were damaged by water, won't buy online from this store again.

4 out of 5 stars Review of mission style computer table   November 21, 2007
J. Tichenor (Alexandria, VA)
This is a great computer table, made of real wood. It could serve a variety of purposes. My only complaint about the table is that it came with NO instructions!! The pieces came numbered, so it was evident that instructions were intended. Once I figured it out, the assembly was not too difficult.

3 out of 5 stars Came together in the end, builder beware   October 14, 2007

Well, in the end the desk came together, and I'm quite happy with it. Unfortunately, I had 4 camlock screws -- out of 8 total, and only 1 spare in the box -- disintegrate (the heads came off) with only hand-tightening. Really, I'm not that strong.

Luckily, I had rescued several similar screws from the flat-pack desk that I bought this one to replace. Once the desk was together, it's a good size for my small room and seems pretty solid (but I don't know how much of that is due to the replacement parts. Would it have been as stable with the weaker camlock screws that I had to replace?)

From reading other reviews, it seems that my experience was not the norm, but I wonder if Target has replaced some heavier duty hardware (steel, etc) with weaker, lighter aluminum (the broken camlock screws appeared to be aluminum alloy of some sort.) Builder beware.

The quality and color are great! Fairly uncomplicated to put together. However, it took forever to be delivered!

4 out of 5 stars Good Table for a Great Price   August 10, 2007
James P. Alexander (Boston, MA USA)
The desk was delivered promtly and in one piece, contrary to the many horror stories i had read about earlier. The instructions are simple and the desk is incredibly well made for the price. I was extremely pleased by the high quality wood used in the piece, not the usual flimsy glued sawdust board. It is very durable and will hold up well no matter what your plans are for it. (except maybe as a prop in a WWF match)

The reason I gave the desk 4 stars and not 5 was due to the crappy quality of the screws, bolt, and fasteners that came with it. As i was assembling the desk i managed to easily snap off the heads of at least 2-3 of the main bolts. I was barely using any pressure and was a little shocked (At first i thought it was my manly brute strength, but that turned out not to be the case). Luckily they include 1-2 extras and I was able to assemble the desk.
