They are very becutiful and the price was right. Overall I don't like order furniture on my computer when you can't really see what you are get. They are smal than i thought but ok as they are for decoration my room and not reading my books. I can just look at them sometimes.

The organic look of this lamp combines with the variability of light intensity to create a highly controllable, calming ambiance. The rustic finish of the base complements our old-farmhouse decor, and I imagine that the lamp would fit nicely in many eclectic applications. At under $50, the base would be a good buy even without the understated shade.
Ours arrived with the switch bent, but that was easily remedied without tools. Since the lamp has been in our den, it has withstood a severe blow to the shade with no ill effect. (It's sturdy.)
This is also an excellent reading lamp.
 NOT WHAT I EXPECTED - NOT HAPPY February 2, 2008
THE SOCKET ASSEMBLY & BASE LOOKED BLACK INSTEAD OF BRONZE. THERE WAS A LOT OF CORD BETWEEN THE BASE AND THE SOCKET ASSEMBLY AND IT WOULD NOT GO DOWN INTO THE BASE OR UP INTO THE SOCKET ASSEMBLY. I EXPECTED A LOT BETTER THAN THIS.

Having spent many hours looking for three-way bulb table lamps that would go into a home living room and or kitchen to provide good reading or ambiant lighting, but not wanting to spend big money through such as Pierre Duex or even Ballard that have my style, and which would fit into eclectic combo of french and american country, with traditional and antique furnishings I was feeling defeated at the price of lamps. When I found these on line I ordered. They just arrived. While a very close look and touch reveals they are not iron-based, from the normal point of view they have a natural almost rustic look that fits my need. I do think the instructions need to be clear that you pull the cord taut from the base when assembling.....it was a bit confusing to this person who is not all that handy....overall pleased.
