Great Song! April 4, 2008 BJay (Hilliard, OH) 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
I absolutely love 'When You Look Me In The Eyes', it is one of those songs you listen to when you think of the person you love, and just...life. It's awesome, and definitely something different for the Jonas'. Their album "Jonas Brothers" is really good, I'm serious!!!
Amazing people and music March 29, 2008 Jennifer L. Bouse 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
I am sincerely sorry if you have not heard this group of inspiring brothers; you're missing out. For those of you who have rated this badly, or are not fans of Kevin, Joe, and Nick, I'm not telling you that you're wrong, because we're entitled to our own opinions, and we all have different interests in music and many other things, but I really can't see how you couldn't at least mildly enjoy them; especially in this song. I've been a fan of the boys for about a year, now, which was really the first time I ever heard of them. Ever since the first time I saw them in their video for "Mandy", I've been in love. Please don't think that I simply mean I've been taken in by their looks; I haven't. I will admit that they are all extremely good-looking, but that's not the only reason I'm such a big fan. These teens really have a true passion for music; they have written every song but 3 that they've ever recorded (all being remixed by them, though), and they really care about being good rolemodels for other fans. They are Christian, their father's a preacher, both parents are/were missionaries. These boys also made the decision to all wear purity rings way before they even considered being a band. They also are very sweet people, and would really do anything for fans; they definitely haven't become taken in by stardom, and I know they never will. They aren't like that. Many people who have come before them may have made promises that have since been broken, but they definitely won't be 3 of them. Okay, and of COURSE, all three have amazing musical abilities. Even though Joe is usually listed as the 'lead singer', with Nick and Kevin as 'backup vocalists', but I beg to differ: All three put an amazing amount of effort and success into their music, and not one is more important than the next. Actually, it seems more as if Nick and Joe share the role of 'lead singer', with Kevin as 'backup vocals & lead guitar'. And don't worry-- there is never any language, suggestiveness, or sensuality in these songs; the boys aren't like that. I know they'll always be amazing, and I'll never give up on them because they'll never give up on themselves.
A Pop Song That Tries Too Hard March 14, 2008 Flap Jackson (State Road, NC) 1 out of 4 found this review helpful
First off, does anybody else see something wrong a bunch of Radio Disney punks being on the top hit radio stations in the country? Anyways, this song is better on paper than execution. When you look at the lyrics, and music, and the whole structure of the song, it's your standard pop love song ballad. The song is pretty paint by numbers, and about as original as the phrase "lol" being the most overused phrase. This song is at most a 3-star effort on most of the items mentioned thus far. However, the vocals on this are horrendous. I mean, unless you're some amazing child prodigy that can sing the phonebook, you can't pull a song like this off very well, which this Jonas brother apparently isn't. So the vocals strain, lack, and by the end just fall apart. I mean, good grief, this is one of the hottest acts in music today?
So overall, unless you are very easy to please, listen to Radio Disney on a regular basis, or are between the ages of 8-12, skip this song, save your ears. Believe me, they'll thank you later. Thank god this song only made it to #25 on the charts. There is still some sanity left in the music world.
