5 out of 5 stars Always look forward to this magazine!   November 24, 2008
Lisa Scher (Chicago)
This magazine is great! As for the advertisements, I don't notice anything more than other magazines. Although, some of the articles are one page, and could be confused with ads. I love the articles and the great craft ideas. My son loves to look at the photos as well. We always sit down and read it together. And it's got info in there for all ages ranges of children!

4 out of 5 stars An Intelligent Parenting Magazine   October 29, 2008
Heather Love (Coopersville, MI USA)
I LOVE Wondertime. I'm a charter subscriber.

I get other more "mainstream" parenting magazines, and they are full of nothing but fluff - regurgitations of the same articles I've read a million times already.

Wondertime is fresh and exciting. I'm not surprised to see it getting lower reviews, because it is geared more toward the intelligentsia and upwardly mobile. Perhaps many of the subscribers reviewing here just don't "get it".

It's a great magazine for those of us that think Parents is full of fluff and mainstream crap (like cry-it-out advice and how to keep up with the Joneses) but think that Mothering is waaaaaaaaaay too extreme on the other end. It's a nice combination.

5 out of 5 stars Great magazine!   October 9, 2008

This magazine is great. It's intelligently written, interesting and informative. I like it MUCH better than other parent magazines I've subscribed to. I highly recommend it.

5 out of 5 stars Wonderful magazine for anyone with children under 5   September 1, 2008

I first subscribed to Wondertime after reading two issues cover-to-cover during visits to my pediatrician and obstetrician's offices while pregnant with my second child. The articles are always well researched and well written by authors who are working moms, stay-at-home moms, working dads, and even stay-at-home dads. I find that this diversity of authorship creates a wonderful mix of topics and viewpoints on parenting. And I love that at the end of each article, there's a photograph of the author with a little blurb that tells you who they are and what they've written recently. From this, I've found a couple books because I've learned to recognize certain authors as my favorites.

In short, if you're looking for a parenting magazine that lives in a different sphere from the normal toddler tripe, this is the periodical for you!

5 out of 5 stars Good magazine   August 31, 2008

Great for the price, great articles on the inside dealing with toddler ages through 6yrs old. interesting health facts. A really good magazine for parents interested in their kids.

They focus on varying issues and tell you for example how to prepare your child for school, etc. - very informative. -
