2 out of 5 stars Nothing Distinctive in this one..   July 8, 2008
Sushanta Bijlani (Burlingame, CA United States)
John Williams is by far the most accomplished and successful composers in Hollywood..I will stand by that till my dying day. Unfortunately, IJATKOTCS is not one of his greatest works. A beautiful nostalgic opening with "The Raider's March" is about as good as its gonna get with this one. Unlike the Star Wars series where each character has his/her very distinctive theme music that would literally stay in your head the rest of your life, this piece of work (though technically sound) really has nothing signature about it. It quite frankly left me bored by the end. Very different from the music of its predecessors, which did not really surprise me at all considering the film itself doesn't come close to the Original Trilogy either.
The main reason I bought this album was because the previous 3 are impossible to find today and I really wasn't too keen on missing a 4th time round. Nothing Distinctive here!

4 out of 5 stars Indie Jones still delivers the sounds   July 5, 2008
MELODY DENUNZIO (Beverly Hills, Fl. USA)
The soundtrack to Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull is again written in the old hollywood action adventure sound, and we again thank you for it. Indiana Jones' music hurries you thru from one threat to the next but takes the time to let it all sink in with the music taking you from one cressendo to the next. Without it, Indie would just be another 5 letter word. See the movie, but make sure you buy the soundtrack!

5 out of 5 stars Same Old Themes But Still Great   June 23, 2008
E. McDonough (Falls Church, VA USA)
This score brings back familiar themes from the first soundtrack. For some, this might be a disappointment. Personally I like those cues in the first film, I think they are quite wonderful, and it's a pleasure to hear them again in the new film. Nostalgic, enjoyable, and recommended.

5 out of 5 stars Just as expected   June 23, 2008
Dillon Cocks (Melbourne, Australia)
I think there were just as many people waiting for the release of the soundtrack to Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull as there were of the film. Those of us who are long-time John Williams fans expected something in the same grand, stirring style that has become the halmark of one of the world's most endearing composers. Well, his latest installment did not disappoint - it was just as expected! Starting with the iconic Raider's March was a good step. It advances from there into a soundtrack that is as every bit a rip-roaring ride as the film was. My only complaint - it wasn't long enough!

5 out of 5 stars Soundtrack-Kingdom of C skull   June 22, 2008
Ronald Ribbink (Frisco, TX United States)
I received it with the Trilogy DVDs.
Enjoyed the Soundtrack selections like other customer's comments.
It did arrive a few days earlier then estimated VIA USPS tracking showed it originated in AZ again bypassing the full West Coast distribution congestion.

Comment on earlier Indy dvds: Since this was bundled with the Trilogy, there is a Teaser/promo preceding each play option. The updated commentaries are excellent!
