Editorial Reviews:

Amazon.com essential recording
Better known as the "White Album," this was meant to be the record that brought them back to earth after three years of studio experimentation. Instead, it took them all over the place, continuing to burst the envelope of pop music. Lennon and McCartney were still at the height of their powers, with Lennon in particular growing into one of rock's towering figures. But even McCartney could still rock, and the amazement on "Helter Skelter" was that he had vocal cords at the end. From Beach Boys knock-offs to reggae and to the unknown ("Revolution #9"), this has it all. Some records have legend written all over them; this is one. --Chris Nickson

5 out of 5 stars Great Diversified Material   January 4, 2009
Pat Lamorgese (New Jersey)
Wonderful disk that opens with the jet scream of "Back In the USSR", with very few clunkers. I still remember as a child getting this for Christmas, with the original poster and four photos of the Beatles. I believe that most of the two disks' material still survives the test, even 40 years later. A must own.

1 out of 5 stars They'll NEVER be as good as Oasis.   January 2, 2009

These old talentless hags will never be as great as their idols Oasis! Oasis are one of the best "classic rock" bands ever, aside from Metallica, but St. Anger is pretty hard to beat. Anyway, this whole album is boring and uninspired with weak songwriting. All of the songs sound the same! Why is this two discs?? It's two discs full of DUNG! LOL!

This is the Beatles best album that is not a "best of" compilation.
It is intensely human scaled in execution yet utterly transcendent in terms of the unguarded imaginative leaps they take.
it's humanity in cinema-scope and it's fookin' brill!

If you love music, also modern music, you must have this album; a milestone for how was new and how changed music born after. Here You can find all, pop, rock, blues, psichedelic new arragements and classic ballad in Beatles style:here is my prefeered side, song like While My Guitar Gently Weeps or Blackbird (so nice this tune and also re-reworked in 1970 in a fantastic bossa nova style by Jose Feliciano in his great-Beatles dedicated album "Fireworks"... to have from all Beatles Fans, imho)
