A++++ December 24, 2008 D. Tyson Chris Tomlin is Amazing! I have seen him in concert and it was one of the best days ever! This cd is a must have!
#1 album from chris Tomlin December 22, 2008 Michele Glodoski (Green Bay Wisconsin) This is an awsome cd. It shows his love for God and his heart for worship. My favs are Jesus Messiah, and Sing,Sing,Sing. Any one who loves great worship music should buy this cd.
Another great album from CT December 21, 2008 Nichele With this album, Chris Tomlin once again proves himself as a writer, a worship leader, and as an artist.
Musically, the album has a great overall sound. It has slightly more of a rock sound than Chris' previous albums, but still contains the worship ballads and hymns that we all know and love. Strictly from a musical standpoint (forgetting for a moment the worship element), it's enjoyable and fun to listen to.
Lyrically/spiritually, the album shines. In fact, I don't know how you could want to do anything but raise your hands in worship to God while listening to this album. And, to me, THAT is the mark of great worship music.
Personally, my favorite songs are: "Praise the Father, Praise the Son" (a musically simple, but lyrically profound worship hymn), "You Lifted Me Out" (an upbeat, fun, easy-to-sing song that reminds us of what God has done for us - especially during times of trial), and "Jesus Messiah" (a simple - in the same way that "How Great is Our God" was simple - song about the attributes of Jesus that can't help but make you raise your hands in worship). But that said, really you can't go wrong with ANY song on the album. Each one is great for different reasons and each draw the heart into a place of worship.
He's done better December 13, 2008 Dana Pruett (Cape Cod, Ma) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Hello Love started off great with the first sond Sing, Sing, Sing. the rest of the songs were okay but nothing stands out as great although all offer Praise to Our God and King.
Songs of Modern Worship December 9, 2008 James A. Nichols (Midwest City, OK) Chris Tomlin continues to be a voice for this generation and continues to write very moving and powerful worship songs. This continues in the line of his previous albums though maybe not up there with those but still 5 stars. I really like the songs "Praise the Father, Praise the Son" and "Jesus Messiah." A great new collection of songs for Worship services.
