Product Description First Motley Crue album with all original four members in over a DECADE!
Album Description Explicit Version. 2008 is great with Vince, Nikki, Tommy & Mick of Motley Crue, our rock'n'roll Saints of Los Angeles. The band created CrueFest which is five bands, one colossal show and a trail of panties from coast to coast featuring Moetley Cruee, Buckcherry, Papa Roach, Sixx: A.M., and Trapt, plus the Rock Band second stage experience, CRUeE FEST is sure to upset neighbors and blow out eardrums across the nation. The single 'Saints Of Los Angeles' features vocals of Josh Todd (Buckcherry), Jacoby Shaddix (Papa Roach), James Michael (Sixx:A.M.) and Chris Taylor Brown (Trapt).

The Saints Are Back September 8, 2008 Tommy.M (Canada,New Brunswick) Its been 8 years since Motley Crue's last studio album,2000's New Tatoo but they are finally back with their ninth album "Saints Of Los Angeles".This is really the first album with the original lineup since "Dr.Feelgood" in 1989 as on Generation Swine from 1997,they weren't much of a team as Vince just sang over John Corabi's vocals and it shows.First I Have to say the energy on SOLA is incredible,Vince's voice is amazing and everybody sounds top-notch,they're back doing mostly what they always did, sing about girls, alcohol and other things they used to.The Crue is back indeed.
It doesn't sound like any of their previous albums, they didn't try to capture the sound of their early years as with "New Tatoo",instead they just let Motley Crue being what it is,no trying to go backwards. It was great that New Tatoo sounded like vintage Crue but you should be going forward not backwards. The band does sound current but in a great way.A thing that you will notice is how they sound agressive and focused. There has been a few surprise albums this year so far and to me SOLA was one of them.It was my most played album of the summer. In the current state of music I'd say Motley has done a terrific album and this album was very well worth it.
The album was at first going to be named "The Dirt" after the band's autobiography of the same name but then they changed it.The songs on the album reflect the book,at least partly. The songs that I enjoyed the most are the great title track,"MF Of The Year","The Animal In Me","Welcome To The Machine" and "Goin'Out Swingin'".The rest is good but those are the tracks that really moved me.The title track with its gang vocals is anthemic,MF Of The Year is my personnal favourite tought(they aren't shy of saying mother****er in one of their songs)."The Animal In Me" is a great ballad and "Goin'Out Swingin'" has the most energy and just rocks. That's not to say the rest is bad,its good but other reviewers have covered all the songs so why should I too?
Overral the new album is possibly the band's best work since "Dr.Feelgood" in 1989.A classic?Well not exactly at leat not yet,but still a very strong album. If you are a fan of the band than get it by all means, its worth having.Unless you are a fan who wants Shout or Girls all over again you will not be disapointed, just be opened to new things. Its recent but it has an old school feeling to it too.

The bad boys of rock deliver! August 31, 2008 Sandman (Canada) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Having been a Motley Crue fan ever since I first herd the opening riff to Live Wire back all those years ago, the band has managed to keep me interested in what they're doing to this day.
I've loved some of their release and though others were sub par, Generation Swine and Theater of Pain were pretty crappy to say the least. However they have also had some real gems along the way as well. The first release was awesome and Shout was as every bit as exciting to hear. Girls had a few great tunes and lots of filler. Dr. Feelgood was a very good cd and probably their best one to that point and time. I was one of a few who really enjoyed the cd they released with John Corabi on vocals as that cd brought the band to a more straight ahead feel and took them away from the 80's hair metal daze. However that line up didn't last long unfortunately and that's a shame as that release is one of my favorites from this band.
This new release is a fresh start really after being apart for a few years and doing other things with other people. Well I'm happy to say that I really believe that this latest release from the bad boys of rock is by far their best one in years. In fact, I might go as far as saying it's the most cohesive effort of all time. The tunes are all very solid and sound alive and very fresh. They don't sound dated at all, which means this band with Vince at the mike has manage to evolve which is something I though they couldn't do with Vince at the helm. Nothing against Vince, but the Motley Crue with Corabi evolved in spades and when Vince returned it was back to the same sounding hair metal 80's that was past it's prime in a big way.
However like I said, this new Crue is just that, it's fresh sounding, it's well put together from a song writing prospective as all the tunes are solid even though their are no hits as a few have pointed out. It's just a darn good listen from start to finish. The production is also very well done as the instruments are heard and felt, which of course is the way it should be. You wont find any thin sounding instruments here, great job.
I might even go as far as saying, it just might be the best release ever! If this is the kind of future release we should expect from a revitalized Motley Crue?, then bring it on cause it kicks butt!

these queer roosters who are giving this Album Nasty reviews need to stick to reviewing britney spears and Backstreet boys. instead of trying to be opionated tossers of all music created.
Honestly, If your not a Crue fan F*#K OFF and Stop Spoiling the reviews for others who might actually be Crue fans!!!
Its a solid album that any true Crue fan would appreciated.

The title track of the album delivers! The album is very strong and the old Cruee is back. Not my favorite but I recommend it.
