Multi-platinum recording artist Barenaked Ladies will release Snacktime, a collection of 24 original children's songs through their imprint label Desperation Records. "Our collective kids now outnumber the band more than 2 to 1," explains vocalist/guitarist Ed Robertson. "We set out to make a record that would be entertaining for them … not strictly a children's record, but a record that children would really enjoy. Our kids are into all kinds of music. Making the focus about what our kids like was a truly liberating process and fun for the whole band."

5 out of 5 stars Kids love to sing along   October 8, 2008
R. Gill (Palo Alto, CA, USA)
First a disclaimer - I'm a Barenaked Ladies fan.

I bought this CD for my nephew who just turned 3 (he has a brother age 7). The review I got from mum was "oh my god, they love it!" They love to sing along (as does mum) and as of this week (1.5 weeks after arriving) they won't let her get past the first 2 songs (7,8,9 & Ninja song.) They keep wanting to play these 2 over and over again -- so be warned mums and dads - it might get repetitive initially. Being a Pierre Burton fan I bought this CD for the Pollywog song. My nephews are Canadian.

Can't wait to hear what they have to say when they get to the rest of the album! Rock on Barenaked Ladies!

We totally love dancing around the kitchen to this music. Especially the ninjas song!

5 out of 5 stars Great for kids and adults   October 3, 2008
brettgr (San Francisco, CA USA)
Not much more to say - kids enjoy at least half of the songs immensely and like the others and tired of Puff the Magic Dragon we like the change-up - and there are even some similarities to BNL's "adult work". Great CD.

5 out of 5 stars Absolutely Fabulous!   October 2, 2008
Lacy A. Sharpe (Raleigh,NC)
I absolutely adore this album, however,I'm afraid that *I* enjoy it more than my two year old.

I think that the first half of the CD is the superior part. 789 and the ninjas are phenomenal. The album drags just a bit after the canadian snacktime trilogy, but I still think it's phenomenal!

I'm Harlan and I LOVE blueberry pie!

5 out of 5 stars Hilarious - Glad to Laugh with The Barenaked Ladies Again!   September 22, 2008
