Album Description For Celtic Thunder, Sharon Browne has teamed up with Grammy-nominated Irish songwriting and composing veteran Phil Coulter to produce a show that includes an eclectic mix of songs ranging from the traditional "Mountains of Mourne" and "Come By the Hills" to international hits such as "Brothers in Arms" and "Desperado," as well as original compositions by Coulter, who has written hits for Elvis Presley ("My Boy") and the Bay City Rollers, and performed with Van Morrison, Tom Jones, and the Rolling Stones. The ensemble numbers in Celtic Thunder reflect the power of the vocalists, who range in age from 14 to 40, and feature songs that celebrate a common Celtic heritage.

Would the real Celtic Thunder please stand up! October 11, 2008 Katie (Portland, OR) I can't believe an institution like PBS would join the evil corporate world just to make money. I thought they actually cared a little about the shows and names they are associated with...I was so disappointed recently to turn on the tv and see this hokey bunch of singers pretending to be singing Irish music. And they stole the name!!!! There is an original Celtic Thunder out of the DC area that I have listened to for years and they are the real deal--traditional music with lyrics that make you feel you are immersed in the world of being Irish. Don't waste your money, or more importantly, time with this group--check out the REAL Celtic Thunder if you are looking for Irish music--The Light of Other Days is a favorite!
Celtic Thunder cannot be beat! October 8, 2008 Diane C. Herring (Gainesville, GA USA) I first heard Celtic Thunder accidentally by clicking through television stations and landing on a PBS program. I was going to quickly click out of it, but became mesmerized immediately. When the show was over, I went directly to the Internet and ordered a DVD and an audio of the show. Then I ordered two more for my children! This is the best I've heard in a while!Celtic Thunder: The Show
Celtic Thunder October 8, 2008 Janice Krogstadt Fabulous!!! If you love "a bit o'th Irish" This is a must for your collection. The voices and blended harmonies are done to perfection!!! I will be buying extras to keep for when I wear this one out!
Celtic Thunder CD October 8, 2008 Jennifer Marks (Victoria, Australia) I absolutely love this cd, and play it all the time. As soon as the drums start for 'Heartland', I'm starting to move in time with it! All the songs are great, and having seen a number of video clips on Youtube, I will be buying the DVD as soon as its available for Region 4! I was intrigued to see that some people were upset by the inclusion of some religious words in the song (apparently the words in gaelic), but when I saw the lyrics, I could see that it was a sailor's hymn to God, asking Him to keep them safe, and then giving thanks when they were safely home, so to me, it makes sense. Anyway, the one song I would have preferred not to listen to, is 'Puppy Love'. I have never really like the song, perhaps because there have been so many bad versions of it, but giving credit where it is due, Damien McGinty does a very good job of it, perhaps because he is a teenager himself, albeit with a very mature voice. I think Celtic Thunder work so well as a group, because all five are accomplished singers/musicians in their own right, and that experience shows up very clearly in the songs. I thoroughly recommend this cd to anyone who likes celtic music.
Great CD October 4, 2008 John C. Hansen (Westchester, IL USA) Every Irishman or those who want to be Irish should listen to this CD. Especially, "Ireland's Call."
