Product Description Manufactured from GMO-free corn, these trash bags are 100% biodegradable and 100% compostable. The 3 Gallon Kitchen bags work well in a small trash container or composter, but are also great for food storage.Since Biobags breathe without leaking, they allow heat and moisture to escape, keeping fruits and vegetables fresher days longer than regular plastic. The 3 gallon bags measure 17" x 18" and are .62 mil thick.Regular polyethylene-based plastic bags can take over 100 years to break down and are not compostable.Sadly, less than 2% of all plastic bags ever get recycled.Plastic bags are everywhere, littering our beaches, lakes and Ocean.Studies estimate that over 100,000 marine animals and 2 million birds die every year from ingesting or being caught up in plastic debris.Using Biobags can help break this vicious cycle. Some manufacturers are blending addiditives to polyethylene to produce what they call "degradable" bags. Unfortunately this process fragments the bag into plastic pieces that do not meet industry standards for biodegradable or compostable plastic. Don't be fooled by imitations, stick with Biobags and help make a difference.Packaged in recycled, biodegradable and compostable boxes with soy ink labeling, everything about BioBags is green.

ABSOLUTELY BEST OPTION FOR YOUR GARBAGE November 25, 2008 Fabiana (New York, NY USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
The bag is strong. Sometimes I take 2 days(family of 4) to bring the gargage out to the big waste can outside. And it holds nicely. Of course if you are a green concious person most likely your garbage will be food waste and you will recycle. So, most of the heavy, sharp end stuff will be in another container (like glass etc). For my family works these bags work great - I feel I am "helping" our planet with less waste and teaching my children that this is the right thing to do.
Biodegradable Trash Bags October 16, 2008 C. Walls (Chicago, IL United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Bags are thin and will not hold much weight without breaking. Also, once put into use, should be deposited into the garbage within 3 days, as bag will begin to "melt". Used only for kitchen waste. A corn based product that is just a temporary fix. Hope someone comes up with another environmentally safe garbage bag. Recommended if you are a "green" sort of person.
