Seam Split, Causing a Nasty Burn December 22, 2008 The Great Oz (Atlanta, GA USA) A few months after this item was purchased, one of the seams split where the thumb meets the hand (the "vee"). I got a nasty burn because of this and cannot recommend this product. I suggest finding mitts that are seamless, or at least have seams in a less problematic place.
Excellent! I have two December 22, 2008 M. Respass This oven mitt is really nice. It has grippers to help you keep your grip and it is very well insulated. I have two and use them all the time. I've taken things out of a 450 degree oven and held for a while before it even starts to get warm.
Good stuff November 12, 2008 B. Abriola (WEST COLUMBIA, TEXAS, USA) Nice mitt. I use it at the oven. Works like it suppose to. Wish this would have come in a set. When the pan is heavy and real hot I still need another for the other hand. Berne
Disappointing oven mitts October 17, 2008 G. Hungerford (New York) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
When I read the reviews of several others, who indicated that these oven mitts were unusually large and long, I suspected that they might be just what I needed, since I have larger than average hands. So, I ordered two, one for each hand. Unfortunately, it appears that those who wrote about the excess size of these mitts must have had small to average sized hands. I can get into them but it's a tight fit. Also, I guess I've grown accustomed to my prior style, which were, actually, a pair of steel smelter's gloves, with 4 finger and thumb sections. These mitten styles gloves are snug and awkward, for me. They don't provide the maneuverability of fingered gloves. My glove size is 2X, admittedly larger than most. The length of the gloves, going up the forearm, was, also, a disappointment. They only covered a few inches of my forearm. I had expected them to be much longer, to protect my forearms from burns, while reaching into a deep oven. Lastly, the insulating qualities leave much to be desired. I can't get much over 6 feet, with a hot pan, without feeling the heat start to penetrate. I cannot recommend these.
Perfect! September 7, 2008 Linda (Western Montana) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
These are the BEST mitts I've ever owned. They fit me perfectly, grip items well and they're not as bulky to store as the traditional style. I can see, however, that they might be too large for those with rather small hands.
