poor quality September 29, 2008 Shin Sou Wang The heater function heats up the while 5gal water bottle which causes the air in the bottle to expend and cause water to leak.
Very bad product.
My unit broke after 9 months July 11, 2008 Striker (California) I bought mine from Target and after nine months it suddenly stopped working. No water would come out from neither hot nor cold dispenser. The unit looks nice but can't even last a year. I also don't like the fact that both hot and cold water switches must be turned on. I once only turned on the hot switch since we don't need the cold water. But after a day or two the water smelt burnt. I'll never buy this brand again.
Very Pleased June 22, 2008 A. Burns (Trenton, SC) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Hey, I love my water cooler!!! I've used it for over a year in my classroom for hot and cold water. The cold is great for mixing with drink mixes. I used the hot most often for making hot tea. It saved me so much time. I used to heat my hot tea water in the microwave, but now it takes only seconds. The unit refills easily and I've since moved it home for the summer. It's a very easy unit to refill and very portable as well. It cleans easily, too. Just read the directions about cleaning and all that -- you'll have no problems with it. The best part is that it was only about $50.00 from Target. I use it with a 3 gallon bottle because it's not too heavy for me to lift.
Leaked from Day 1 February 24, 2008 Tommy (Baltimore,MD) Picked this little cooler up from Target - I don't understand why Target would choose to stock such a clearly poorly made product. Should have read the reviews. My model began leaking about 2 hours after I got it home. It leaks from the dispensing nozzle - like the "button" doesn't pop out enough to fully close off the flow.
I believe its a design flaw - Recommendation is stay away from this one.
Avoid This Product!!! October 27, 2007 JB (Mississippi, USA) I purchased this product because I drink about a gallon of water a day and wanted a small unit to keep cold water and save fridge space. I followed the setup instructions exactly as they are laid out in the manual the night I purchased the product(I read and follow the manuals for every product I purchase). The next morning I poured myself a glass of cold spring water and had to spit it out due to a strong chemical plastic taste in the water.
Needless to say I was very disappointed. I decided to run water through the unit hoping that the terrible taste was due to the unit being brand new, so I filled both of my dog water bowls with the water and both of my cat water bowls with the water, AND MY DOGS REFUSED TO DRINK THE WATER DUE TO THE TERRIBLE TASTE!!! I did not give my cats a chance to try it.
We are talking about dogs that will drink toilet water if I let them (I don't) and enjoy it!
I thought the taste could be from the plastic bottle on top the cooler so I wrapped the unit in a towel and removed the bottle. My wife, my two dogs and I all did a taste test, and the water in the bottle was the same delicious spring water that I filled it with (the dogs lapped it right up too), so there is no doubt that the actual unit is the cause for this rancid plastic taste.
DO NOT PURCHASE THIS PRODUCT IF YOU LIKE THE TASTE OF FRESH CLEAN WATER!!!
Water should not taste that badly. I would not eat plastic and I certainly do not want to drink it.
Like another reviewer on here I would too have to rate this product as a minus.
