Amazon.com Review A perfect gift for new homemakers, the food processor has become an integral part of modern cooking, speeding up a multitude of processes, including kneading dough, slicing, chopping, shredding cheese, vegetables and meat, mincing garlic and parsley, mixing batters, and emulsifying mayonnaise. Cuisinart's Pro Classic comes with a 7-cup work bowl, four basic attachments for slicing, shredding, chopping, mixing, and kneading, and also features two feed tube options, one big enough to handle a whole potato. This processor comes with a compact cover for use when the feed tube isn't needed and a pulse control that allows the desired degree of fineness when chopping and pureeing. Remove the detachable stem for compact storage of discs. All the parts are dishwasher-safe and the motor base wipes clean. In addition, a custom-contoured spatula, a 50-page recipe booklet, and a 30-minute video designed to familiarize the new owner with the care and use of the food processor are included. --Victoria Jenkins

cuisinart fp October 4, 2008 opossum (NY) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Wonderful food processor. Best one I have ever used. Very pleased, would recommend one to all....
the video is now on DVD September 21, 2008 --pat (around) Several reviews noted that the video came in obsolete VHS form. Cuisinart got the message. It's now on DVD. The chef on the DVD had a handy habit of pushing the cutting blade down firmly onto the post and then reaching underneath the bowl to hold the cutting blade in place while dumping the contents. I found that most of my fat fingers don't fit, but I can manage the trick.
The many parts become second nature rather quickly. I have a teeny tiny RV kitchen sink, no dishwasher, and I still manage to wash it OK. Draining dry just requires creative piling. I'm going to try cookie dough. Space is very limited, so this little machine will have to be the mixer as well.
This processor comes with a medium slicer blade and the shredder. I found the addition of the 6mm french fry blade was the only addition I'll likely use. I don't fine grate things. I'll likely use the shredder for any kind of julienne output. Shredding reminds me. Have to get the ingredients for potato pancakes.
A Monster! September 5, 2008 Lizhar (Tallahassee, FL) 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
This food processor is wonderful! I was really surprised as to the weight of the machine - it's a monster! It processes food with the greatest of ease.
Making friends with a Cuisanart August 29, 2008 R. Simon (NYC) This great big cuisanart arrived to replace a little old model I got in the 70s. It seems not only big but a bit complicated to operate...any appliance that needs a DVD to explain itself has a slight problem. However, it works well once you wrangle it into position. I'm beginning to like it alot!
lousy lid August 18, 2008 Suzham (Texas) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
The food processor works fine. But the lid is difficult to manage and clean. I think it was designed by lawyers who were more concerned about the possibility of a cut finger than chopping or grating food. I'd rather have a Robot Coupe, but for the price this is ok.
