MLCS now offers the complete woodworker drill set. This set goes from 1/8'' to 1/2'' by 1/64'' increments. The in between sizes are especially useful for doweling to get that "just right" fit. A metal case and bit holder are included. All the holes in the bit holder are labeled to help you select a drill size. Brad Point drill bits are designed to drill flat bottom holes in hard or soft woods, composites and plastics. These bits will not move off center through unusual grain or knots. All bits are deep fluted to clear chips, quickly, and the shanks are stamped with the bit size. Larger size bits have reduced shanks except for #9178.

I ordered this set over some cheaper ones hoping to get a decent set of brad point bits. Unfortunately the very first bit I used broke on the first hole I tried to drill (11/32"). I was drilling into 1/2" plywood to install some adjustable shelf standards. The bit broke half way into the plywood (CDX grade softwood). I was not overly pushing on the bit, nor at an angle either. I then put in the next sized bit and was able to finish 55 holes with no other problem. So I am guessing the fist bit had a manufacturing flaw. They are foreign made. At this time I have to give the bits a below average rating. Would be nice if sellers included country of manufacturer. Would not have purchased the set for price I paid, if I had known they were from overseas. Order was fullfilled and delivered promptly. I have ordered from seller before and never a problem. I did not contact them after the bit failure.
