Product Description The Mirka Hook & Loop sanding discs come on a B weight backing, giving the disc better edge wear & wear ability. The Stearate aluminum oxide grit provides a fast, uniform cut. We stock these discs in 5 hole & 8 hole in the 5" size and 6 hole 6" size. This will cover the most popular sanders on the market. These discs can also be used with a standard pad with no punched holes. (Each size and/or grit sold separately)
Amazon.com All sandpaper is not created equal. As a result, we love Mirka paper. The backing is beefier than other papers, and to us, that means quality. Aluminum oxide grain is the choice of most woodworkers because it's sharp, durable and, best of all, long-lasting on the higher paper grades that won't shred on the edges. This assortment is perfect for professionals, homeowners, and hobbyists because it includes everything from stock-removing 80-grit to a nice 220 finishing grit. Yes, you can spend less on other sandpapers, but you'll end up spending more in the end. This is quality. --Kris Jensen-Van Heste

Mirka 5" 8-Hole Assorted Grits Hool & Loop Sanding discs May 28, 2008 kargi 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This product is a good value and is what it is. The dustless hook and loop sanding disc system is the only way to go. When combined with a compatible palm sander, such as a DeWalt or Porter Cable, (I have the DeWalt) and a vacuum system it is virtually dustless.

These sanding discs are of very high quality and last a long time. Compared to the big box stores and places like Sears, they are priced very fair.
best all-purpose paper around February 13, 2008 Sean Bova (Schenectady, NY USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've used this paper regularly for varied materials... metal prep, hardwoods, soft woods, fiberglass, plastics... Mirka has always been one of the top brands and they've been fairly consistent in quality. Very good clog-resistance for all materials I've tried so far. Plus, a great price for a 50-pk assortment... will definitely be ordering more here as I need them.
Long lasting February 3, 2008 Bill Wallace (CA United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
These work very well and last quite a long time. The price Amazon sells them for makes them an excellent value and the assortment is a great way save money as opposed to buying smaller quantities in stores or bulk packs of each grit. Perhaps of no consequence to others, but I am quite glad these are not yet another cheap Chinese made product, they are made in Norway.

about this product:
It's rough on one side, soft on the other side. When you attach one of the fifty items contained in this package to an electric powered apparatus designed for such things, you are capable of removing the surface of something with varying degrees of success. Being round, it works best when fitted to a similarly sized and shaped sander face.
