Singstar is a lot of fun, especially since you don't have to leave your couch or sing in front of strangers at a bar. The song selection on the disc and in the SingStore may not appeal to everyone, I would check the song listing on the disc before buying. If you don't see a lot on the disc that you like, you'll probably be disappointed by the online store. That said, we've dowloaded around 50 songs and have a lot of fun playing this at parties. The inclusion of the music video rather than characters dancing onstage (like in the American Idol game) makes for a more entertaining game for those who'd rather sit on the sidelines as well.

I feel like a dork playing this game by myself, but when friends are over, it's a GREAT group game and has made lots of durable memories. It has great graphics, fun game play, and the music videos are fun to watch. I love the fact that you can buy more songs, which are constantly being updated.

ANY songs you download with this game will be tied to the machine you downloaded them to. They cannot be redownloaded or repurchased on any other machine with the master account you used to purchased them. This is a SERIOUS problem for anyone who makes a significant investment into additional songs, especially if you ever have to replace your PS3.
There are multiple postings in the PSN newsgroups about this problem--wish I knew about it before making my purchase.
The game is tons of fun, but consider investing elsewhere if there is an alternative.

To be honest song selection was disappointing, both online and the 30 songs that came on the CD. But interface and overall presentation is nicer than American Idol. Once we find a song that we like, it is a lot more fun, especially if you turn on video feed from camera.
I am hoping they will add more hip hop songs soon, thats what all my friends want to sing. I don't care much for the hiphop songs, so it is fine with me.
