Editorial Review
The ubiquitous Lara Croft is back. After multiple appearances on the PlayStation, the aging icon is back to face her "last revelation" before moving on to the PlayStation2. This installment has everything that earlier Tomb Raider games had: physical puzzles, a sufficient arsenal, and lots of exploration, but this time in Egypt.

Lara returns with her old slate of moves plus a few new ones. She can climb, crawl, dangle, swing from ropes, and leap. Revolvers, crossbows, and Uzis are Lara's weapons of choice, and she can combine these with ammo she picks up along the way. Lara also will take control of speedy vehicles for some sweat- wrenching chases through the desert.

The story reveals Lara's roots as a young protege of Professor Werner Von Croy. A training level puts players in the role of a pigtailed child Croft, getting newcomers accustomed to the controls, after which Lara regains her distinctly grown-up form. While Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation doesn't do much that's new, the old formula works well, although the pace still might be a little too slow for action fans. --Robb Guido

Pros:

  • Rich desert graphics
  • A nice mix of action, adventure, and puzzle solving
Cons:
  • Maybe you've played a game like this before

I think that this is te best game of the series. The graphics are improved from the previous games, and definately more complicated. The egyptian adventure features intertwined levels, a storyplot that goes back to the origins of Lara Croft, better control methods than the earlier games, and even better cheatcodes :P. I do not recomend this game for beginner players. If, however, you have played the other tombraider games, or are up to a challenge, this is definately the game for you.

I bought TLR to complete my TR set for Playstation. WOW! Had I TOTALLY forgotten how different the controls for Lara are! I know I will enjoy working through this game as much as the others.

5 out of 5 stars Would be better with todays graphics but whatever...   September 24, 2006
This game is very good, but can be frusterating as hell... The graphics look good for a PS game though. Hours of fun.

5 out of 5 stars Geat but impossible, without a strategy guide   August 21, 2006

I been playing this game since 1999. I just recently hooked up my playstation and loaded it with where i ended off back in like 99 or 00. I can't figure out this level with like these wheels in the ground (like ships wheels) in a dark area with torches on the wall, that you have to turn, there are like 3, don't know what direction to put them in to open something, any help? would like to beat this game before 2010, other than that its a sweet game
