great gift September 27, 2008 shopsalot (CA) I got this as a gift for my boyfrind and he LOVES it. He uses it all the time and says it is perfect with the separate keyboard.
Where's the Mouse? September 25, 2008 Charles Macnaughton (Meriden, CT USA) This is a pretty nice product, for what it does. You get a notebook stand with an integrated 3-port USB hub, and a decent keyboard.
The keyboard is a standard business-type affair with no fancy keys other than volume controls and a calculator key, which is--conveniently--right above the number keypad. It's got a sturdy one-piece tilt adjustment on the bottom.
The stand is convenient for placing your notebook screen at a more viewable angle and/or next to a 2nd external monitor. For my computer, the stand was not adjustable enough to give me an optimum viewing angle, so I had to put a "riser" beneath the front of the stand to allow a good viewing angle on the notebook screen.
It's Logitech, so it's well made as has been every other product I've ever used. It's puzzling, however, that the package does not include a wireless mouse, considering that nearly every other wireless keyboard package they sell includes a mouse. It's not a huge deal, but it would've been nice to eliminate the USB dongle for the mouse.
Great Notebook Stand September 22, 2008 Michael D. Day The notebook stand is sturdy, attractive and easy to set up. The keyboard has a nice touch and stores upside down on the stand when the notebook is not on the stand. The 3 built in USB ports are externally powered so they do not take power from the notebook computer. Using an external USB mouse is enhanced through use of the built in USB ports.
Clean design, easy to use and functional.
Highly recommended.
Almost great.. September 21, 2008 tangent (Houston, TX United States) I really wanted to like this product, it has good build quality and nice aesthetics but it suffers from a few design flaws which make it unusable for me.
Pros: * Very nice keyboard (I have not been a fan of many recent logitech keyboards but this one felt very nice to me, slightly mushy but with a subtle tactile response. The integrated wrist cushion is very comfortable)
* Extra powered USB Ports (Despite what some reviewers have written, the external power supply is *not* required to use the keyboard, it is only for the powered USB ports)
* Works with 17" laptops
* Compact and easily portable when folded up
* Overall build quality, aesthetics
Cons: * Not height adjustable (The height is good on some tables but on my desk the screen stands about 4" above the height of my 24" monitors which is just too high, killing any ergonomic benefits. I returned it and got an XBrand XB-1001 which is adjustable)
* USB cable which connects to the computer is too short, it could barely reach the USB port at the front side of my laptop.
* No integrated audio jacks, front of stand blocks the onboard audio jacks on most laptops which now have the jacks on the front rather than the side, making it impossible to use external speakers.
good September 8, 2008 Wei Song (AL USA) This is very good notebook stand, it works very well with Windows XP but not with Vista.
