4 out of 5 stars Great Value   July 3, 2008

USB Flash drives are fairly much the same, but this is a very good price for 4 GB of memory. It stores a lot of information in a small pocket able unit. I have used it mostly for music transfers. It contains enough memory for a little under eight hours of music or almost six compact discs. For the price, you can't find much better and Kingston has a very good reputation.

5 out of 5 stars Easy and effective   July 3, 2008
Amelia Ritner (Silverdale, WA United States)
I needed a thumb drive with lots of space to save al my documents and photos on as a backup and working copy, and that's exactly what I got. Nothing to load, tons of space, you just plug in and copy-paste stuff from your hard drive onto it, then you're done. VERY easy to use!

4 out of 5 stars Good value, but slow   July 2, 2008
William M. Brant (Central Iowa, USA)
I've had my Kingston drive for about a year now. It's in my pocket with my keys and change all the time except when the drive is plugged into a computer. Unlike other flash drives I've had, the Kingston shows little wear from this treatment.

I have not run into any hardware or software compatibility issues. It's worked in every (Windows) computer that I've plugged it into. It's pretty compact; I can plug the drive into a middle USB port and not physically block the ports above or below it -- which is a problem I've had with other drives.

I use the drive to keep items that I'm working on so I can work on them from either home or work.

Summary: The drive capacity is big, plays well with other hardware and software, and it's sturdy. If it were not noticeably slower than other flash drives I've had, I'd give it five stars. However, the lack of speed is not a huge deal in the long run. It's just a little slower doing writes than faster (and more expensive) drives.

-- Bill

PS: Some have mentioned about the cap potentially getting lost. That is not an issue to me, as I've found that the cap will securely snap on the other end of the drive when you take it off...
