Easy to set up September 7, 2008 E. Blood (Ft Lauderdale, FL) This modem was easy to set up and has been very stable since I installed it. The only issues I had with it was with customer service (Comcast - their systems were down) but once they got it working, it's been great.
Motorola Rebate is a Scam September 6, 2008 Arizonan I purchased this modem from Amazon because Motorola is currently offering a mail-in rebate through selected retailers. After I submitted the rebate form, Motorola decline the rebate saying "The UPC symbol or proof-of-purchase tab you submitted is not valid for this promotion". I ordered the exact model number specified on the rebate form. How was I supposed to know what UPC code Amazon was going to ship me?
Here is the quote from the rebate form - "This offer is valid only on the purchase of a Motorola SURFboard Model SB5101 between January 1, 2008 and December 31, 2008, purchased at Fry's Electronics, CompUSA, Office Depot, Radio Shack or Amazon.com."
Great pruduct September 4, 2008 Constantin Aldea (Glen Ridge, New Jersey) Easy to set up, very good price. So far, it proved to be very reliable.
Great Reliable Modem September 1, 2008 K. Skiles (Conway, AR USA) I bought this modem for my cable internet service. It's very easy to setup, connect to a router, and broadcast the service wirelessly if you choose to. I've had no downtime with this router and would recommend it to anyone who needs a modem for new cable service.
Modem Review September 1, 2008 Reverie (Memphis, TN) I don't really have much to add to the pre-existing reviews, but it's a great machine. It saves me $3per month from modem rental through Comcast. I figured that after 12 months of rental, I would've spent almost as much towards the purchase of my own modem.
