sony cybershot h50 August 16, 2008 victoria 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
this camera is awesome!! i am so thrilled with it so far and i still have lots to learn. The Auto button gave me great prof/quality like pictures...and the family responded the same way to the pics i sent. I was never satisfied with my other digital cameras, the battery life Sucked!! i had many precious moments i missed because of my camera had to charge for a light or it had a silly delay time on it that would drive me ever lovin' crazy,so therefore i had no fun taking pictures at all.Disney was the worst because i had to carry this bag with all my lithium batteries, regular and my rechargeables..and still did not solve the problem...i missed what would have been some timeles memories at Disney world...i sure wish i had my Sony at that time..i would have been so happy.Hey we live and learn, i'm just glad my kids are still young enough to want to go back to Disney and we can do it allover again with my Sony.I had sold it already the first day i took it out, a lady had stopped me in the street and asked what kind of camera i was using and loved the quality of photos it took,my co workers loved it too...so all in all this is the best by far.I love the battery it's cool!plug in the wall charge in no time and voila! you are good for days...it's a camera you've got to have if you are an amateur and ready to step up a notch.
Nice camera August 15, 2008 DARTH (PALM BEACH. FL) I got this camera shortly after it became available and have been fairly happy with it. I don't know of any other camera that has the combination of features this one has, especially at this price. The large, tiltable screen and the nightshot feature makes this camera extremely versitile. Of course the quality of the nightshot photos leave quite a bit to be desired, but without it no night photos would have been possible. That more than makes up for the poor quality. As far as the overall quality of the pictures are concirned, there are far better cameras on the market, but they are far more expensive, much heavier to tote around and require much more expertise to operate properly. I have found that for most pictures I shoot this camera is fine.
Fabulous Photos August 9, 2008 D. Tobin (Northern VA, USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought this camera from a local camera shop (for more than I could have purchased it at Amazon...darn!), and it is wonderful. I purchased it after lugging my beloved Nikon SLR around Paris, Barcelona and London this past year. I wanted great photos, but not a great big bag to haul around. This is the perfect solution! It is light, easy to use, has great zoom and photo clarity. With an 8GB memory stick (purchased separately), we took over 1000 photos and still had room for 1000 more. The battery is rechargeable, and the charger is a nice, small, light unit with folding prongs. I had to recharge the battery four times over 18 days and 1000 photos. I bought an extra battery to make sure I never got caught without power, and it wasn't necessary, but it never hurts for peace of mind. The focus is fast so we rarely missed what we were after. I'm delighted!!!
Stop looking for a camera, get the DSC-H50! August 8, 2008 Humberto Almanya (Colombia) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I want to start by saying: "I Love SONY, I love this Camera"
I've had 3 SONY cameras, first a P90, then a H2 and now this H50, and I can say, they've done a great job!
PROS: Everythin: I've taken lots of pictures in all modes, including night... The smile shutter feature is just fun, creative and amazing, my children love it. It also has a remote control, you can even create smiles with it's on-camera editing options. The screen size is just great (although I prefrer to use the finder). The 15x zoom, night shot, face detection... well, you need to buy it to enjoy it. At the end the resulting pictures just meke you say: "I made a great choice"
CONS: When you turn it on with the lens cap attached, it will push it out. (In the H2, when this occured, an on-screen message will appear: "lens cap attached") I suppose SONY knows about this flaw and it's working on fixing this with a firmware update.
Hey, buy it and enjoy it! You'll agree with me as soon as you take your first picture!
