Some rob you with a gun.... December 23, 2008 Floyd Goodrich (Alta Loma, CA USA) Canon knows that this is a must if you have an expensive lens to protect so they pick your pocket for this $3.95 piece of plastic. Yes it fits well and is nicely made, but $31, should come with a tube of Vaseline... Watcha gonna do?
nice piece December 13, 2008 Wayne Oehlerking I like this hood. Only wish I had a lens to go with it amazon. thanks
Very Good Lens Hood November 23, 2008 Robert Jenkins (Phila, PA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This lens hood was purchased for Canon 50mm 1.4 lens. It is good and performs as designed. Highly recommended. No complaints other than Canon should include lens hoods with all lenses, should not have to purchase separately and Pricey for plastic is why only 3 stars.
Does the trick - a must have accessory November 16, 2008 Dr. Doodle (Washington State) A little pricy but you gotta have it if you have the Canon f1.4 lens. It reverses on the lens for compact packing in your bag. These hoods aren't as needed for low light conditions obviously but I use it all the time if for nothing else but to add some protection to the front of this little lens.
Fits the lens well October 12, 2008 Andriy Didovyk (Cambridge, MA United States) I was considering a third party lens hood for about half the price for my Canon EF 50mm f/1.4. After reading some of the reviews stating that the third party hoods sometimes are either too tight or too loose I purchased this Canon ES71II and have no complaints about it. It fits the lens very well - not too tight not too loose. Maybe a bit on the tighter side, but it's not a problem.
Overall, this hood does what it has to do, albeit for somewhat high price (as for a simple piece of plastic and felt)
