Product Description The DCR-HC52 miniDV Handycam(R) camcorder is a high quality, versatile, and highly capable device. The Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar Lens and Super SteadyShot(R) image stabilization capture clear, sharp video. Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar lenses are designed specifically for compact camcorders, and utilize precision ground optics to maintain the sharpness and contrast found with larger lenses. Powerful 40x optical, 2000x digital zoom brings you close to the action, and the 2.7" touch panel Swivel Screen LCD display puts control of everything at your fingertips. 1/6" Advanced HAD(TM) (Hole Accumulation Diode) CCD with 340K effective pixels provides stunning detail and clarity with exceptional video up to 500 lines of horizontal resolution and still image performance. In addition the Digital Zoom Interpolation means that extreme digital zooming is clearer, with less distortion than previous types of digital zooms. The display rotates up to 270 degrees for multiple viewing angles, as well as provides sharp, detailed images for monitoring or playback. Quickly transfer images from the camcorder to compatible devices equipped with an IEEE1394 interface. When using the Sony InfoLITHIUM Battery, the Stamina(R) Battery Power Management System helps the camcorder prolong battery life for extra long continuous recording times from a single charge. 35mm Equivalent - 36 - 1440mm (4 - 3 Camera Mode), 39 - 1560mm (16 - 9 Camera Mode) Aperture - F1.8 - 4.1 Filter Diameter - 30mm Focal Distance - 1.9 - 76mm Shutter Speed - Auto, 1/60 - 1/4000 (Scene Selection Mode) Minimum Illumination - 11lux (1/60 Shutter Speed) Video Signal System - NTSC color, EIA standards White Balance - Auto, outdoor, indoor, and One Push (Touch Panel) Picture Effects - Mosaic, Solarization, Monotone, Sepia, Neg. Excellent Condition and good price August 24, 2008 Narendra Parvathareddy The product details are not mentioned properly but over all product is excellent Condition and good price
DEPENDABLE WITH ONE MINUS August 20, 2008 R. Valentine (Conn.) I like almost everything about this camera except one thing. COLOR SATURATION IS LOW. I wonder if it is just MY camera or are the others like this? My previous JVC DV Cam had much better saturated reds and blues than the Sony. The HC52 has good clarity, good stereo built-in sound, with little if any machine-noise. For the great price, I think the extras make the deal.. Like touch screen menus, built-in lens cover, and 40X zoom. The image stabilizer works, albeit mildly. I noticed that the sunrise/sunset mode enriches the colors.. however the focus is fixed for distance only and can't be over-ridden manually in that mode..so, thus far I can't seem to manually get more saturated colors, therefore it loses 1 star.
NIce Camera, But can not use on computer July 28, 2008 VJVB 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
I bought this camera two weeks ago. I like it, but the only draw back is, you cannot connect it to a computer, because there is an ilink port, but there is not usb cord that is compatible with it. If anyone out there has a camera like this, let me know if I am right or wrong about this. Thank You

This camcorder is not compatible with a usb cable so you cannot put video onto the internet. Unfortunetly this is why I bought the camera so I wasted my money.
Great Camera July 17, 2008 M. Levy (Florida) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This camera is very easy to operate, light weight, compact and the features for a small camera a nice. I had an earlier version of this camera and a new feature is the lens cap it slides into a comopartment and does not hang off the camera. Great zoom easy to reach controls. Great camera for the average user to record family vacations.
